How to get to KOH LIPE

From Pak Bara

Officially the first speedboat from Pak Bara Koh Lipe part at 11:30 am, while the last one at 3pm. In high season often the first trip is at 10am. and even some days the last speedboat is at 4pm.

From Bangkok

Plane
Daily flights depart from the capital to the south of Thailand. You can choose to fly direct flights to Trang or Hat Yai airport, from there we can arrange to transfer to the harbor (Pak Bara) by minibus or a taxi.

Airlines flying to Hat Yai and Trang are:

• Thai Airways
• Airasia (The company offers an all inclusive package, flight-minibus-boat)
• Lion
• Nok Air

We recommend taking the flights very early in the morning to get to Koh Lipe in the day.

Bus
There are several bus heading towards the south, you can choose to get to Trang or Hat Yai, and from there continue by minibus to the port of Pak Bara. Another option is to take the bus that brings in Satun, get off at La Ngu (30 km. before Satun), than to take a local taxi for 25 baht which will take you to the port of Pak Bara.
We advise you to travel by night bus arriving at their destination in the morning and so arriving during the day to Koh Lipe.

Train
From the train station Hualampong in Bankgok, night trains depart  every day. We recommend to book your ticket in advance with direction Trang or Hat Yai. Arrived in one of two destinations, you have to take a minibus to take you to the port of Pak Bara. In high season from Trang, you can go to the port of Hat Yao where every day there is a ferry that leaves at 13:00.

From the port of Hat Yao which is just outside the city of Trang, during high season you can take every day the ferry departing at 13:00.

From Phuket

There are Phuket connections to Koh Lipe by sea, only during the high season which runs from late November to about mid-April. There are departures every day by speedboat and a ferry.

From the islands of southern Thailand
To get to Koh Lipe from the smaller islands, you can use the Speedboat and ferry departing from Phuket, as dock along the trip to Phi Phi Islands, Koh Lanta, Koh Kradan and other smaller islands.

From Phuket you can get to Pak Bara also by taxi or a private minivan. The taxi is definitely the fastest means, but there are also buses that depart daily from Phuket Town direction Trang, Satun and Hat Yai.

From Malaysia

From October until the end of May, there are two daily ferry from Langkawi to Koh Lipe, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
